7.9 Understanding LC Phone Costs (Wallet Usage)

Using LC Phone features consumes credits from your sub-account's Wallet. Understanding the cost structure helps manage usage. Access details via SettingsCompany BillingUsage tab. Rates can vary based on your specific agreement with The Close Agency, number type, and destination country, but common components include:

  • Monthly Number Fee: A recurring small charge for each phone number you purchase and maintain.
  • Per-Minute Call Rate: Charged for both inbound and outbound calls. Rates differ for local vs. toll-free numbers and vary significantly based on the call destination (calling internationally costs more).
  • Per-Segment SMS Rate: Charged for both outgoing and incoming SMS messages. Billed per segment (160 chars standard, 70 chars with emoji/unicode). Rates vary by country/number type.
  • Per-Message MMS Rate: Charged for both outgoing and incoming MMS messages (images/videos/PDFs). Typically costs more than an SMS segment.
  • Carrier Fees: Small additional pass-through fees often applied by carriers per SMS/MMS segment (for A2P/Toll-Free traffic).
  • Optional Feature Fees: Small per-lookup fees for Number Intelligence features (Validation, Spam Detect, CNAM Lookup) if enabled.
  • Other Potential Fees: Charges might apply for Call Recording storage (often very low), Voicemail Drop usage, etc.
