7.5 Voicemail Features

Close Master offers features related to voicemail for both outbound and inbound calls.

  • Voicemail Drop (Workflow Action 'Voicemail'):
    • Purpose: Allows you to send a pre-recorded audio message directly to a contact's voicemail system without their phone actually ringing (sometimes called "Ringless Voicemail"). Can be useful for less urgent follow-ups or updates.
    • How it Works:
      1. Record your voicemail message as an audio file (MP3 or WAV).
      2. Upload the audio file to your Close Master Media Library (SitesMedia).
      3. In a Workflow, add the Voicemail action.
      4. Select the uploaded audio file.
    • Considerations: Requires recipient consent in some jurisdictions. Delivery is not guaranteed (depends on carrier/voicemail system). Incurs usage costs (check Wallet rates).
  • Receiving Voicemails: When someone calls your LC Phone number and the call isn't answered (based on routing rules and timeouts), it can go to voicemail.
    • Setup:
      • Ensure Incoming Call Timeout is set appropriately low (e.g., 20-30 seconds) in the Number Configuration (SettingsPhone Numbers).
      • Upload a custom Voicemail Greeting (MP3/WAV) either globally for the account (SettingsBusiness ProfileCall & Voicemail Settings) or per user (SettingsMy Staff → Edit User → Call & Voicemail Settings). If no custom greeting is uploaded, a generic system greeting might play.
    • Accessing Voicemails: Recorded voicemail messages left by callers will appear as entries in the Conversations feed for the corresponding Contact, usually with a playable audio file attached.
