22.17 Payments Settings (Gateways, Taxes, Receipts)

Purpose:

Configure account-wide settings related to payment processing, taxation, and financial documents.

Access:

Often found under SettingsPayments OR specific subsections within the main Payments section (e.g., PaymentsSettings top tab).

Key Settings:

  • Payment Gateway Management: View connected gateway (Stripe, PayPal, etc.). Set the default gateway if multiple are connected. (Connection usually done via Integrations).
  • Taxes: Configure sales tax settings if applicable to your services. Enable Stripe Tax (automatic US tax calculation) or set up Manual Tax Rates per region. Define if prices are Tax Inclusive or Exclusive. Consult tax professional.
  • Receipts: Customize the template for automated email receipts sent after successful online payments via Orders or Invoices.
  • Invoice Settings: Configure defaults for invoices, such as enabling Tips, Partial Payments (See 14.4).
  • (If Selling Physical Goods): Configure Shipping settings (Zones, Rates, Origin address).
  • Text2Pay Templates: Customize SMS messages used for quick payment requests (See 14.9).
