22.16 WhatsApp Setup (If Used)

Purpose:

Connect and manage your WhatsApp Business API number for use within Close Master Conversations and Workflows.

Access:

Navigate to SettingsWhatsApp.

Setup Steps (Requires specific subscription/setup flow, often assisted by agency):

  • Initiate connection process (often involves connecting Facebook Business Manager, creating/selecting a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), verifying the Phone Number). Follow platform-specific steps.
  • Templates Tab (CRUCIAL):
    • Create and Submit Message Templates for Meta (Facebook/WhatsApp) approval. Templates are required for initiating conversations or messaging outside the 24-hour customer service window.
    • Choose Category (Marketing, Utility, Authentication).
    • Define Header (optional: text, image, video, doc), Body (use {{1}}, {{2}} etc. for variables), Footer (optional text), Buttons (Call-to-Action or Quick Reply).
    • Submit for approval (can take minutes to days). Manage approved/rejected templates here.
