2.12 Manual Entry: Adding Leads from Open Houses, Networking, Referrals

Purpose:

Easily add contacts to Close Master that you obtain through offline interactions or sources not directly integrated.

Methods:

  1. Using the + Add Contact Button:
    • Locate the button: Find the + Add Contact button, usually prominently displayed in the main Contacts section or available via the Quick Actions menu (lightning bolt icon) in the top header.
    • Click the button. A panel or modal window will appear.
    • Fill in Details: Enter the contact's information: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone.
    • Add Context (CRUCIAL):
      • Assign Owner: Select the agent/user responsible for this contact from the Owner or Assigned User dropdown.
      • Add Source Tag: Immediately apply a Tag to indicate how you got this lead (e.g., Source: Open House 123 Main St, Source: Networking Event - Chamber Mixer, Source: Referral - Jane Doe Client). This is vital for tracking effectiveness.
      • Fill Custom Fields: Add any other known information into relevant Custom Fields (e.g., Buyer Timeline, Property Type Interest).
    • Click Save. The contact record is created.
  2. Using the Lead Connector Mobile App Business Card Scanner:
    • Open the Lead Connector app on your phone.
    • Navigate to the Contacts tab.
    • Look for a Camera Icon or Business Card Icon (often near the + add button). Tap it.
    • Grant camera permissions if prompted.
    • Scan the business card using your phone's camera. The app will attempt to automatically recognize and extract the text (Name, Company, Email, Phone, Address).
    • Review Extracted Info: Carefully check the auto-filled fields for accuracy. Correct any errors.
    • Add Context: Add Tags (especially source), assign Owner, fill Custom Fields just like the manual add process.
    • Click Save. A convenient way to quickly add contacts from physical cards while on the go.
