12.5 Linking Courses to Communities (Learning Tab)

Purpose:

Seamlessly integrate relevant online Courses or resource hubs (created in Memberships → Products - see Chapter 11) directly within your Community Group's interface, making it easy for members to access training or resources without leaving the community environment.

How to Link Courses:

  1. Navigate into the specific Community Group where you want to add the learning resources.
  2. Click the Settings (gear icon) for that group.
  3. Select the Courses tab within the Group Settings menu.
  4. Click the Link Courses button (or similar).
  5. A list of your existing Membership Products (Courses) and potentially Offers will appear. Select the checkbox(es) next to the specific course(s) or offer(s) you want to make accessible *from within this group*.
  6. Click the Link or Add button.

Result - The Learning Tab:

  • After linking, a new tab labeled Learning or sometimes Classroom will appear in the group's main sidebar navigation for all members of that group.
  • When members click this Learning tab, they will see a gallery or list of the specific courses you linked in the step above.
  • Access Rules:
    • If you linked a Product directly OR linked a Free Offer, members of the group can typically click on the course within the Learning tab and access its content immediately at no extra cost.
    • If you linked a Paid Offer, members will see the course listed in the Learning tab, but clicking on it will likely present them with information about the course and a Buy Now or Get Access button. Clicking this button will redirect them to the Offer's checkout page where they need to purchase access before they can view the content.

Managing Linked Courses:

  • Go back to Group → Settings → Courses tab.
  • You can drag linked courses up or down to reorder how they are displayed in the Learning tab.
  • Click the delete icon (trash can) next to a linked course to remove the *link* from this group (this does not delete the actual course Product itself).
  • Use the ... menu to copy the direct link to a specific linked course if needed.

Linking relevant courses directly provides significant value and convenience for internal team training hubs or client resource groups.
