11.1 Memberships Area & Client Portal Overview

It's helpful to understand the two main parts of the Memberships system: the backend where you build and manage, and the frontend where your users access the content.

Backend Management Area (Accessed via Memberships Left Menu):

When you click the Memberships icon (often a graduation cap or building symbol) in the main left menu, you enter the administrative area. Key tabs here include:

  • Dashboard: Provides an overview of member activity, signups, revenue (if selling), and content progress.
  • Products: This is where you build the actual structure and content of your courses, resource libraries, or training programs. Think of a Product as the course itself. (See 11.2).
  • Offers: This is how you bundle one or more Products and grant access to users. An Offer defines the price (Free or Paid) and generates the unique Signup or Checkout link that people use to enroll. Access is always granted via an Offer. (See 11.3).
  • Certificates: Design and manage templates for certificates awarded upon completion of courses or specific modules. (See 11.5).
  • Analytics: Track member progress through your content, view video engagement statistics, monitor assessment results, and analyze revenue from paid offers. (See 11.6).
  • Settings: Configure global settings for your Memberships area, including the crucial Custom Domain for the Client Portal, branding options, and system-generated email templates (like welcome emails). (See 11.7).

Frontend Client Portal (What Your Agents/Clients See):

  • Purpose: This is the secure, private website where your enrolled members (agents, clients) log in using their email and password to access the Courses (via the Offers they've been granted) and potentially Communities (Chapter 12) they belong to.
  • Access URL (CRUCIAL): Members access the portal via a specific web address. For a professional look and feel, it's highly recommended to use a Custom Domain (e.g., training.youragency.com, portal.youragency.com, clients.youragency.com). This is configured in MembershipsSettingsCustom Domain and requires adding a CNAME record to your domain's DNS settings. (See 11.7 / 13.1).
  • Content: Inside the portal, users see the specific Courses and Communities they have access to, based on the Offers you've granted them manually or automatically (e.g., via Workflow).
